Ambic Colours Explained
Ambic has gone to great lengths to offer a wide selection of decorative and aesthetically pleasing colours and patterns to suit most of your working and home environments.
If you do not see the colour or pattern of your desire in our current ‘Ambic Colour Chart' document please do call 0191 389 1888 and ask to speak with a member of our specialist team.
All Ambic furniture is pre-assembled and is delivered fully constructed and ready to provide you with years of reliable service. This fact means that it is very important to choose your colours and surface patterns accurately prior to placing your order, as we are normally unable to reuse components of items ordered in error!
MFMDF (Carcass Finish)
Melamine-faced medium density fibreboard (MFMDF) is the construction material for much of Ambic's furniture. The surface colour or pattern is pre-bonded by the manufacturer and arrives in the form of large sheets of board which we manipulate and work into the sized furniture components that make the furniture as seen within our catalogues.
Please refer to the ‘Ambic Colour Chart' pdf document and select from the ‘Carcass Finish' section. These are the colours and patterns for your MFMDF component parts of your furniture (see *).
HPL (Face Finish)
High pressure laminate (HPL) is an extremely durable and versatile material that Ambic uses to provide a protective surface for furniture construction materials such as medium density fibreboard (MDF). HPL is purchased in the form of large thin sheets that Ambic manipulate and adhere to the sized furniture components that form the furniture as seen in our catalogues.
Uses of HPL in Ambic furniture tend to be for components such as drawer fronts and tabletop surfaces. There is a far greater range of branded colours and decorative patterns available in the market from companies such as Polyrey® and Formica®.
Please refer to the ‘Ambic Colour Chart' pdf document and select from the ‘Face Finish' section. These are the colours and patterns for your HPL component parts of your furniture such as drawer fronts and work surfaces.
Powder Coated Metalwork (Paints)
Ambic has within house a powder coating facility specialising in providing superior finishes to metalwork. This enables us to be able to offer rapid response allowing us to manufacture, powder coat, and deliver to customers in one day. The powder coating process is applicable to steel, zinc, brass and aluminium materials and is suited to intricate and complex shapes providing an evenly coated protective surface finish.
Prepared metal surfaces are electrostatically charged then coated or ‘dusted' with uniform layers of coloured dust (paint) prior to being fused (baked) in a temperature sensitive environment. The resulting surface has no paint runs, is of a beautiful uniform finish, and is extremely durable as it is composed of polyester.
Please refer to the ‘Ambic Colour Chart' pdf document and select from the ‘Paints' section. These are the colours for surface of your metal parts of your furniture such as D-shaped handles, plinths and frames.
* It is important to note that when recording your colours on your Order please clearly state or record your colours as the six-digit code as shown and reinforce this by also naming the colour to avoid and highlight any colour discrepancy.
Please refer to the appropriate sections for ‘Care and Maintenance Advice' to keep the surfaces of your furniture looking fresh and new.
