Ambic is a personal and friendly company with 25 years worth of experience designing furniture for schools. We have your interest at the heart of our business, as our furniture is designed around the needs of the child instead of being constrained by economies of manufacture, mass production and distribution. Once you appreciate the value of Ambic's products and service you will never make-do with inferior furniture.

We have no sales team and our staff are not driven by targets. When you call us you get to speak directly with experienced, friendly designers and engineers who thrive on delivering quality furniture solutions (however big or small) to satisfy your needs.

Pre-assembly

Ambic furniture is unique because it is all pre-assembled by our cabinetmakers, arriving on site ready for years of use. We refuse to cut corners (and cost) by shipping flat-pack and then relying upon our customers to construct furniture safely.

Quality materials

Ambic refuses to lower the quality of its products by using the chipboard (MFC) or similar inferior grade materials as used by nearly all of our competitors. Our engineering-led design ensures all materials used are over-qualified for the job. A cupboard door at home needs to endure being opened and closed tens of times a day whereas in school it needs to withstand being opened, closed and bashed hundreds of times in every day. Thin materials that flex or cheap solutions such as chipboard are not good enough for use as construction materials in most school furniture.

Diversity

We are diverse and versatile to adapt to the changing needs of our customers. This leads to innovation in product design as determined by actual demand. A typical example of this has been our unique ability to work solid-grade laminate materials for exterior school fascia surfaces to provide very long-lasting exterior solutions that never need painting.

We recognise that our customers may not be skilled in the technical nuances of purchasing quality furniture and that they look to us for professional, dispassionate and authoritative advice in this area of our expertise. We offer a more comprehensive range of product types than anyone else. It is this versatility that makes us the definitive producer of quality school furniture. With tray storage units, for instance, our competitors only sell a small selection of the best selling sizes and styles of unit whereas we offer 144 different stock items as standard. The furniture that Ambic make is tailored to the specific needs of the individual.

Joint construction

Our construction methods are over qualified for the job as furniture's strength is dependent on its design and the materials used. The joints of our competitor's furniture are either glued, screwed, cammed or dowelled to hold the furniture together. All Ambic furniture is glued, rebated, cammed and dowelled to ensure years of strength to the product. If you have ever tried to re-move a piece of flat-pack furniture that is full then you will understand why we insist upon this!

Made to order

Most furniture catalogues are companies selling furniture from a variety of manufacturing sources where production workflow has been geared towards standardisation. At Ambic, however, each piece of furniture is made to order and can be as unique in dimension or appearance as your imagination is broad. We want our customers to fit their furniture around the needs of their pupils rather than fitting their children within the parameters or limitations of mass-produced furniture.

Unique turnaround speed

As we manufacture everything ourselves we can change our production scheduling to handle very tight lead times on unusually urgent work. We believe we are unique in having the ability to turn around custom-built furniture in a couple of days.

Minimum disruption on installations

Our installation staff are craftsmen in multiple-disciplines. This fact enables Ambic to complete work in a fraction of the time of our competitors. A two or three-man team can gut, install and fit a complete toilet block within a period of approximately one week as opposed to the five or six week disruption that often ensues.

Proven experience

We design all of our own furniture rather than relying upon the creative whim of graduates and aspiring designers. We build upon years of experience with every design that we create. This means that the strength and quality of our furniture is up-to-date, proven and tested. The benefit of this fact is only truly appreciated when compared to situations when furniture has been bought which does not stand the test of time.
